USNPC Update

The U.S. National Preparatory Committee has been getting a lot of interest recently bringing in such organizations as The School of the Americas Watch (SOA Watch), Pastors for Peace, the Young Socialists of America, the Venceremos Brigade and the Young Communist League, USA as well as many young people from all over America.

As the festival approaches the American delegation is very exited to attend and represent the youth of the U.S. and the many issues facing us and the world.  From the poor state of education systems and the extracurricular activities they provide to the two wars and crippling unemployment that effect youth the most we certainly have many issues that need to be represented on an international platform.

As we know, we here in America are represented badly on the international stage.  The wars we are in are very unpopular both here and abroad as is the ruthless form of capitalism we have loosed on the world.  However we also know that the American people do not condone the things done in it’s name internationally and we need to show our brothers and sisters around the globe what the American people really want.  Peace, equality, justice and the freedom to enjoy simple rights and pleasures.

Greetings from the U.S. National Preparatory Committee for the 17th World Festival of Students & Youth!

The U.S. National Preparatory Committee for the 17th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) is now in formation!  The festival is a tremendous opportunity to voice the issues of youth in the United States of America on an international stage as well as standing in solidarity with youth of every nation and to articulate our desires and dreams for generations to come.
The festival will be taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa December 13-21 2010.  Youth organizations from all over the globe will be sending delegates to represent the youth of their nation.

The United States must play a very important part as we are the world leaders of capitalism and imperialism and we must take a stand as young people to show the world and our own citizens that we will no longer sit idly by as these injustices remain.

We call upon all progressive youth and students to join the struggle for peace and against imperialism, and work actively from now to strengthen the 17th WFYS in America to participate in the Festival in South Africa.

Let’s defeat imperialism, for a world of peace, solidarity and social transformation!

Let us work for a successful 17th World Festival of Youth and Students in South Africa.
